As actor Glen Ford once said, “If you do not the thing you fear, the fear controls your life.”
When you confront your fears and move toward what you are afraid of, your fears diminish while at the same time, your self-esteem and self-confidence increases.
The most important kind of courage is the courage to begin, to launch, to step out in faith. This is the courage to try something new or different, to move out of your comfort zone, with no guarantee of success.
With a commitment to acquire the habit of courage you will eventually reach the point where your fears no longer play a major role in your decision making.
You need to have self-discipline to respond positively and constructively in the face of discovery.
Mignon McLaughlin, The Neurotic's Notebook, 1960 wrote: “Courage can't see around corners, but goes around them anyway.”
You need self-discipline to keep your thoughts on your goals and dreams and keep them –off – of your doubts and fears.
Successful people are those who visualize the kind of success they want in advance. Prior to a new experience the successful person visualizes a successful positive event. The subconscious is like a computer so be sure to input great information, positive pictures and make choices so your subconscious computer output is positive to reflect a great life experience.
You are What You Can Be.
Ambrose Redmoon said: “Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear. “
Courage is the power to let go of the familiar. ~Raymond Lindquist

Empower Yourself
EM•POW•ER: To give power or authority to; authorize
Empowerment is a process that challenges our assumptions about the way things are and can be. It challenges our basic assumptions about power, helping, achieving, and succeeding.
Lao Tzu said: “When you are content to be simply yourself and don’t compare or compete, everybody will respect you.”
“Fear is excitement without the breath.” So take a breath, and then take the next step…then before you know it, you will have created your masterpiece; your dream comes true.
Here are three D's to remember which consist of:-
Alice Walker wrote: “The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don't have any.”
FROM MY PERSPECTIVE:
To empower myself means that I step into my own magnificence and brilliance. That I let my inner light shine in a large way. That I am myself, authentically, with love for all and no worry for how another perceives me and no need to compare, only to be exactly who I am, in pure acceptance and embodiment of me, my soul in this life. It means that I embrace my gifts. I don’t hide them. I don’t pretend that I am not all that I am. I don’t take my strengths and downplay them. Instead I say “Yes I am all that and more,” in my heart in a quiet way. Knowing that I was gifted with purpose and a willingness to live that purpose. Empowering myself means that I Play A Bigger Game. I may feel unsure, a bit uncomfortable and challenged each time I step into a larger playing field of life; however I continue to step into a grander version of myself, knowing that all is well, and allowing myself to become a tool for a higher purpose.
Personal empowerment allows us all to follow the dreams that are not within our means now (but will be!).
Imagine your life as you want it – as though it were happening now. Cut out pictures (from magazines and other sources) to make your vision stronger and a reality. Practice positive mental rehearsal before every important event. Continually feed your mind with great people, thoughts and pictures.
Edith Armstrong said “I keep the telephone of my mind open to peace, harmony, health, love, and abundance. Then, whenever doubt, anxiety, or fears try to call me, they will keep getting a busy signal-and soon they’ll forget my number.”
Dare to Dream! And dare to make those dreams your reality. Remember -- Don’t try so hard to fit it when you were born to stand out.

CHOICE - You Have Choice in Your Life and In Your Dreams and Goals
Choice
From the dictionary:
CHOICE: consists of the mental process of judging the merits of multiple options and selecting one of them. Often a choice is made between options, and followed by the corresponding action.
Can You Follow Road Signs?
If so then you can choose a Dream/a Goal and follow the Signs (action steps) to get there.
And what happens if you need to go somewhere and there are no directions and no road signs?
How long will it take you to find a building in a new city without a road map and without road signs? You probably will never find it, or it will take a very long time and if you ever did find the building, it will be a matter of luck.
To achieve a dream– first you must chose the dream and then to make it a reality in your life, decide upon action steps – these are your roadmap with directions to get you to your destination.
-Swami Prem-oh-da-ya (Premodaya) said: “We are actors in a play who have forgotten they are in a play.”
You have determined your entire life up to now by the choices and decisions you have made, or failed to make. If there is anything in your life that you don’t like, you are responsible. If there is anything that you’re unhappy about, it’s up to you to take the necessary steps to change and improve it so that it’s more to your liking.
As the President of your career and your own life, as the architect of your destiny, you’re free to make your own decisions. You are the boss. You are in charge.
In the Bible it says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.”
Imagine that you have all the time, talents and abilities you require to achieve any goal you set for yourself. Imagine you have all the friends, contacts and relationships you need to open every door and achieve anything you really want.
Imagine that you have no limitations whatsoever on what you can be, have or do.
Nirmala said “It turns out that the source of everything is also who you are. Since the source of everything doesn't come and go, it must be here right now, in this very moment.”

New Ideas to Creating Your Dream Come True - How to Make Your Own Luck
In a book by Melody Beattie, she was taking sky diving lessons (passionate about it) but was very afraid to jump her first time. Her friend asked her “do you believe in God?” She answered “Yes.” Her friend said “Then jump.”

Laura Berman Fortgang wrote: “If everything were linear and predictable, we’d come to a halt. There would be no creativity or evolution or growth. To live is to weave constantly between the known and the unknown.”
It’s understandable that we want order, predictability, and answers to all of our questions. If we have these things, we feel more comfortable. Yet tremendous fullness, aliveness and a different kind of comfort come when we learn to tolerate the randomness of life.”
Nothing is neat and tidy. Never has been and never will be.”

So -- Can we Create Our Own Luck?

Spent 10 years of scientific research which revealed a new way of looking at luck and the role it plays in our lives. It demonstrates that much of the good and bad fortune we encounter is a result of our thoughts and behavior. She suggests we follow these 4 tips for becoming lucky:
1) Listen to your gut instincts – they are normally right.
2) Be open to new experiences and breaking your normal routine.
3) Spend a few minutes each day remembering things that went well.
4) Visualize yourself being lucky before an important meeting or telephone call.
** Luck is a self-fulfilling prophesy.
By thinking that they were more lucky, people expected to be luckier and that expectation had an energy which created their luck. The chain reaction is known as the Law of Attraction: what we focus on occurs.
Dale Carengie believed and that to get on in life think positively. He suggested when we see the good in people; suddenly everyone will be on your side and help you achieve your goals.
Graham James, master magician once said: “All magic is finding the right tools to aid your own focus.”
“The Art of Navigation” by Felix Wolf
Why wouldn't we want to go online and tap into the infinite intelligence of life itself? We request information and guidance through actions and gestures, and we receive information and guidance by turning our awareness away from our thoughts - towards the entirety of our sense perceptions, 360 degrees, all around, inside and out. The resulting appearance of correlations, hunches, signs, omens, synchronicities, and silent knowledge - the sensations of excitement, flow, peace, and oneness - should offer all the incentive we want.
To navigate life means:
- to live life in the spirit of a treasure hunt
- to consistently feel like being in the right place at the right time
- to feel guided every step of the way
- to be always in the flow
- to generate serendipity on a daily basis
- to find the shortest and fastest way to living your full potential

A Few Secrets Tips to Creating Movement on Your Dreams and Goals
Dare to soar - Have the courage to act on your dreams – release any internal forces that hold you back. Identify what you want and go for it.
A Few Secrets Tips to Creating Movement on Your Dreams and Goals:
1) In every study there seems to be a direct relationship between tight time planning and high income. Time Management – write down your goals everyday and watch how much you accomplish that day!
2) Make passwords affirming acronyms. For Ex:
a. I Am Successful in All I Do = IASIAID
b. I Always Make Great decision that Further my Future, Career, and Happiness. = IAMGDTFMFC&H
c. Why Worry? It’ll Probably Never Happen = WWIPNH
3) Every great success in your life represents a triumph of persistence. Success shows your ability to * decide what you want, * to begin and then * to persist through all obstacles and difficulties until you achieve your goals.
a. What would you dare to dream, or be, or do, if you weren’t afraid of anything in the whole world?
The one quality that absolutely guarantees success in this life is indomitable will power and the willingness to stick to it.
Persistence Is Your Greatest Asset
B.C. Forbes, the founder of Forbes Magazine, who built it into a major publication during the darkest days of the depression, wrote: “History has demonstrated that the most notable winners usually encountered heartbreaking obstacles before they triumphed. They won because they refused to become discouraged by their defeat.”
The principle of persistence is about keeping on.
Florence Scovel Shinn wrote that: “Every great work, every great accomplishment, had been brought into manifestation through holding to the vision, and often just before the big achievement comes apparent failure and discouragement.”
Keep moving forward until the miracle comes -- What you don’t see is the silent and irresistible power which comes to your rescue when you continue on in the face of discouragement.
The power to hold on - in spite of everything - to endure – this is the winner’s quality.
And last, remember - being here, being alive - is about having fun and knowing we are all connected and we create it all.
Matt Kahn said
“The infinite expression of One, through our mind, is divided into individual people, moments and experiences. When you know that this is what the mind does then you can appreciate it and enjoy it. Otherwise, you end up being someone at a magic show trying to tell everyone how it's all an illusion... but you came to be a part of the illusion, so enjoy the magic. If you aren't enjoying the magic, you're missing the point.”

What Lengths are you Willing to Go to to Change?
Oprah Winfrey wrote:
“Reaching your potential as a human being is more than an ideal. It’s the ultimate goal. The wonders we’re capable of have nothing to do with the measurement of mankind, the list of what’s in and what’s out, who’s hot and who’s not. I’m talking about the real deal: Whose life did you touch? Who did you love, and who loved you back? This I know for sure is what matters. For me it’s the only goal worth aiming for: a transformation of consciousness that allows me to know that I am no better or worse than any other being. That I simply am.”
Jim Bouchard in his book “Think Like a Black Belt” talks about:
Setting large, clear goals. Plenty of people with goals set out with the best intentions only to crash and burn or just fade away.
Some real secrets to accomplishing your goals:
* Your biggest goals should reflect your passion.
* Be sure you’ve got the material, emotional and spiritual resources you need to sustain your efforts. If not, adjust your immediate goals to fit your current resources.
* Divide your big goal into a series of progressive, attainable steps.
* Get tough enough so you won’t let inevitable set-backs and failures defeat you. This is “discipline.”
* Commit yourself to continual self-perfection.
* Begin…
From the book “The Art of Racing in the Rain” by Garth Stein:
“Such a simple concept, yet so true: that which we manifest is before us; we are the creators of our own destiny. Be it through intention or ignorance, our successes and failure have been brought on by none other than ourselves.”
What Lengths are you Willing to Go to to Change? If something is standing in your way of making your dream come true... say a belief, or an experience that's a pattern that sabotages your goals being met - who you gonna call? Be open to others who can assist you along the path - the idea is to rearrange your insides so your outside matches the idea and vision you hold of your dream.

GOAL SETTING: Courage is Resistance to Fear
Goal Setting
Coach John Wooden said: “Success is never final – failure is never fatal. It’s courage that counts.”
“Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear – not absence of fear.” Mark Twain
It takes courage to pursue one’s dream. It takes courage to desire a huge dream into the space where currently there is none. Courage is believing in oneself and one’s passions so strongly that we face our desires head-on with tenacity. We forge ahead, one step at a time.
"The happiness of a man in this life does not consist in the absence but in the mastery of his passions." -Alfred Lord Tennyson
We must master our passions – it’s why we’re here. We were given our passions for particular reasons – each of us are uniquely unique….with a different set of talents and gifts and we’re meant to utilize them in the world. The dictionary describes PASSION as 1. any powerful or compelling emotion or feeling, 2. strong amorous feeling or desire; love; ardor. 3. a strong or extravagant fondness, enthusiasm, or desire for anything: a passion for music. 4. the state of being acted upon or affected by something external, esp. something alien to one's nature or one's customary behavior (contrasted with action).
"Never does a man portray his character more vividly than his proclaiming the character of another." - Winston Churchill, 1874-1965, Former British Prime Minister
If you want to know what’s holding you back in your life, listen to what you say about others. What words specifically do you use when complaining about someone in your life? What sets you off about others? Well darling, mirror, mirror, on the wall…. We are virtual mirrors of each other and whatever we see in others is what exists in ourselves. Your friend who is so busy talking about herself that she hardly listens to you? Where in your life are you so busy talking about yourself and your life that you do the same to others? This is an exercise in extreme growth - if you’re brave enough to look closely and make changes! Everything you love in another is what is also special and wonderful about you. The things you react to in others is behavior within you that has not yet been addressed and cleaned up. Start there and when you get through each aberrant behavior to the other side of no longer needing to behave that way, you will then have tons of free attention and will to pursue your dreams. Clean out your emotional closet of anything that doesn’t work for you. And bless others in your life for showing you all your most undesirable and best traits.
Jim Bouchard in his book “Think Like a Black Belt” wrote:
“It took me a very long time to believe I could be a Black Belt. I cannot tell you that when I earned my yellow belt that the rest of the trip was smooth sailing; not for me. I almost quit several times. I didn’t have the vision of Black Belt since it wasn’t my initial motivation. I did think it would be cool to someday be a Black Belt; I just didn’t really believe I had what it takes.”
Once upon a time I was overweight. Most of my life I was overweight in my head but not in real life, however I was young and didn’t posses the metaphysical wisdom I do today. When I was young and in a normal body I had no idea. And I thought myself into becoming fat. I thought I was fat so much that by my last year of high school I was quite overweight. By my 1st year of college I was obese. I was obese through college and my early 20’s. Then in my 20’s and early 30’s I spent those years going on a diet, losing weight and after looking good for a day I started to regain the weight immediately. It was a crushing reality to do over and over and over again. Then one day I discovered a belief about myself. This belief went all the way to the core of my being and had been lodged inside of me my whole life causing me to sabotage myself. The belief I discovered is that I had decided, at some point in my life, that I was broken. When I realized I felt this way about myself, I cried the tears of someone who has perceived herself as broken for far too long. It was a pain I had blocked and never experienced. After a great cry, I decided I will not live like this again and I was worth far much more. I did a visual meditation and saw myself implant a new and wonderful belief about myself instead. This new belief made me feel great. It made me look out at my reality with hope, power and joy. I decided I’d never hurt myself again. And this time it didn’t come from the old “I swear this time I’ll lose the weight for good “ mentality. This time it was from a place of healing and self love. And I did. I re-entered my life and changed. Over 6 months I lost 30 pounds. Today I am still at a normal weight. Today my food is great and healthy and yummy. Today even with an imperfect body I am happy with who and what I am and how I look. Yes even in bathing suit! Which for someone who was overweight for a very long time – it made changes in the shape of my body! My exercise has changed. Today I don’t struggle with food, weight, exercise, I don’t fight. I look forward to it all. Today I can say I am in a normal body at a normal weight. It took finding that old hurtful belief about myself, feeling it, exorcising it, and then replacing it with a new belief its complete opposite that sits in me today like radiant love. This is all so much a part of my life I hardly think of it. And this is very good, because today I have free attention for my life and my dreams.

Today I Say "Fantastic" to Anything that Comes My Way
Letting Go and Responding to What Happens Knowing it’s “Fantastic!”
I remember years ago being at a gathering where someone got up to tell a story. He had decided that no matter what happened to him – no matter what, his response would be “Fantastic!” And then he’d look for the great reason why things turned out the way they did. He and his wife went on a vacation and checking in to their hotel was told the hotel was over booked and although they’d had a reservation, the hotel could not accommodate the couple. The man turned around and said “fantastic!” The hotel, feeling terrible, recommended another hotel in the city and made arrangements for the couple to go there instead. The couple arrived at the other hotel to find out it was a much more beautiful hotel than the original hotel and at the same price. Fantastic! When the husband checked in someone called his name and it turned out an acquaintance he’d fallen out of touch with and had liked very much was there - they got back in touch. Fantastic. And so his story went. I heard this true story 17 years ago, and it left a lasting impression all these years. Imagine being that let go. Release, relax, let go, let flow. Move with life not against it.
Because resistance to things creates…what? Friction? Resistance creates sabotage. Because by its nature resistance is opposition, obstinacy, and defiance. In making out dreams come true in living the life of our dreams we don’t want opposition we want to invite in the good and the promotions and the wealth and the happiness. We don’t want to defy our reality we want to welcome it as though it’s exactly as it should be. So what if I didn’t resist anything? What if no matter what happened, no matter what I responded (to the core of my being!) with the attitude of “Fantastic!”
Last week I had several interviews back-to-back booked for my radio show. Everything and everyone was prepared. I was about to drive to the radio station when I received a call that there was smoke in the studio and the equipment had been damaged so much that none of the DJs could come in to do their show. I responded (internally of course with :) “Fantastic!” And I meant it. I knew something better was coming my way. I called each guest to cancel and reschedule. One guest said she had her own special 800 number where we could do our interview and create an MP3 recording for that week’s radio show. “Fantastic!” We had a wonderful telephone interview which did indeed run that week on the radio and she was able to promote her upcoming workshops in time. Much later the radio station called me to say they’d replaced all the equipment –and the smoke turned out to be a blessing because they’d upgraded and we now had a better system in place - the studio was had even better boards and equipment than before. “Fantastic!”
My boyfriend was agitated this morning because our street was shut down and he could not get to work until they reopened it. The road was closed because President Obama is in town and every time he comes to Los Angeles he stays at a nearby hotel. We don’t get notice about it ~ they just shut down road access for hours and there’s nothing we can do about it. He needed to get to work so it’s understandable that he was anxious. I told him to breathe and relax. Go with the flow. “Fantastic!” What if in the scheme of things – because he was held back in this way, he missed a car accident that would’ve happened otherwise. Or something else of bad consequence was avoided that he might never know about. Truth is once he breathed, the road opened, and although there still was traffic he made it to work.
We never know why things turn out like they do. But we do have a choice. We can decide that no matter what happens it is the perfect scenario for us. We can decide that everything and everyone that happens to us is “Fantastic,” and really believe it to be so. Then we experience everything from a relaxed, positive place. Then we’re open to what’s wonderful about what’s occurring.
There’s no resistance, no pre-determined outcomes. Just being in the moment, knowing that all, right now, is truly “Fantastic!”
From Michael Bernard Beckwith’s book “Spiritual Liberation”
“Today I consciously turn the key to the treasure house of my inner being. I attune myself to my true nature. Any agreements I have made in the past with mediocrity, any excuses I have used to postpone fully expressing my essential self are now broken. I confidently step into a larger dimension of myself. When I ask the Spirit within, “what is my highest purpose?” I hear its answer in language my heart can understand and respond to. I take action on the intuitive guidance I receive and am faithful to it. I declare my willingness, my receptivity, and my enthusiasm. This statement of truth breaks through any seeming obstruction, every stubborn attempt to cover my creativity by remaining small. Clarity, confidence and commitment go before me.
“Creativity freely flows through me as an expression of my talents, gifts, and skills. With the realization that everything is energy, I see its glow everywhere I look, manifesting in all that I see. I know this to be the life force within all existence. Just as life holds back nothing from me, I hold back nothing from life. I am so grateful.”

Action is about taking direct steps, based on the obvious, toward creating what you want.

How are the above in your reality? How authentic is your life? Are you living a life that you love and look forward to experiencing each day?
The only change you ever need to make is in realigning yourself with why you’re here. The gifts and talents you've been given in exactly the way you inhabit them make them uniquely you with unique gifts to offer. Realign with your purpose and live an authentic life. You are here to express that and that alone. And only you -- can express you!
In Michael Bernard Beckwith's book "Spiritual Liberation," he writes:
To transform your life into one you adore be sure its chock full of people, situations, work and things that you love. Life is short. Be on the path that says “I'm here and this is what I have to offer.” Be of service to others. Be kind. Be willing to show up in your own life in a big way.

"Ground yourself in the intention to be radically alive. I like the words of Dr. Howard Thurman: "Don’t worry about what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive." That means that, as long as you are on the planet, you are here to deliver your gifts, your talents, and your skills with confidence and inner authority, withholding nothing. This is when you are living full out, moving in the reality of love, affluence and artistry of being. Your radical aliveness not only affects your individual life but life on the planet as we know it."

M.B. Beckwith writes:
"The spirit of the living God is knocking at the door of your heart, reminding you that you are an exquisite, precious, and powerful being. Shine! Sing! Be bold enough to articulate what you are sensing, feeling, and knowing. Now is the time for you to partner with that immense power. Allow the tidal wave of the divine inspiration to wash over you and express in, through, and as you. Consciously and confidently enter the scared process of co-creation, because That which expresses as you does not happen through anyone else in quite the same way. Become a master of your own divine, radiant creative expression.
"AFFIRMATION: Right here and right now, I call forth and activate the evolutionary impulse of my inner being. With absolute trust, I surrender to where the Spirit leads me and experience the peace which surpasseth all understanding."
What's great about your life today? What's unique and wonderful about the gifts you came into this life with?
Focus, Focus, Focus! And then Relax....
Do you ever have the feeling that you're missing something? For instance, you're sitting on the sofa relaxing and then a panic arises that you should be out doing something, getting something accomplished, as though life is passing you by and you'd better jump on the boat and row? Yes indeed I feel that occasionally.
I'm learning to talk about those moments, out loud now, to assist the moment in passing me by, rather than succumbing to the panic. I have strong urges to accomplish things. I have many tasks I undertake on a daily basis. Sometimes I feel like I'm putting out various fires. I deal with one thing when another arises and I deal with that when another attention-grabber arises. And it creates a feeling of anxiety and a complete lack of focus. I experience this when I move into my day willy-nilly, no plan at all ~ just my octopus paws extended out ready to try to manage whatever comes my way... starting one thing, and in the middle suddenly focusing on the next thing (without finishing the first) when a third item nabs my attention (without completing #1 or #2). What fun! Couple that with multiple social and professional media sites -- ad infinitum. Without a plan I'm an anxious, unproductive octopus.
I recognize that the way to combat that is to have a plan. Mea culpa. An idea of what to focus on...a list (on paper is best) with bullet point references of what I want to handle and in what order. When I do that I stick with the plan and have a very good feeling inside during and after. I also go through my to-do's in a relaxed manner since there's a sense of order and importance about it. Also on the list must go - time to unwind, and it's okay to do so! And then allow the down time to happen.
I know all the sayings about human "doing" instead of human "being" and actually I've gotten much better at this. Still at times, it's trying. So to work around my periodic inclination to leap off the coach and turn into the whirling dervish of doing more, I say out loud exactly what I'm feeling. Once I've admitted vocally the emptiness that seems to be beneath the urge to surge, it seems to dissipate, just like that. I can breathe and relax into the moment that I relish and deserve.
Now since being a fireman is not my calling in this life, I am mindful to stop making my days about putting out fires around me -- instead I create my day. I decide how I want it to look and feel. I set an intention for the day and for each day’s segment. I write down (on 1 sheet of paper!) what I'd like to take care of. And off I go to wonderful results.
I do my best during the day and let it go at night. A day intention and a night intention and many more good intentions in-between. Being real and authentic amidst my moments sets my 24 hours for a swimmingly good experience!
Just my five cents of sense!
